By Air
Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is one of the important aviation hubs in China, as well as the largest international air port in Shaanxi Province and the largest in Northwest China. Taxi/Internet taxi: Taxis start at RMB 8.5 and are charged according to mileage and time. The cost of a cab to the city is around RMB 150, and the journey takes about 1 hour, but may be affected by traffic congestion. Railroad
Xi'an has several train stations, mainly including Xi'an Station, Xi'an North Station and Xi'an South Station:
Xi'an Station: as one of the largest passenger stations in Northwest China, it has a large number of trains to all parts of the country. Conveniently located in the downtown area, it is surrounded by numerous bus lines and subway stops for easy access to all parts of the city.
Xi'an North Railway Station: one of the largest high-speed railway stations in Asia, it is the intersection of the Xicheng High Speed Railway, Daxi High Speed Railway and other important lines, from which you can quickly reach all major cities in China. The station is well equipped with transportation facilities, and there are metro lines 4 and 2 for interchange, making it convenient to travel to downtown and other attractions.
Xi'an South Railway Station: farther away from the city, with relatively fewer trains, it mainly undertakes the transportation task of some general-speed trains. If you choose to get off at this station, you can take buses or other means of transportation to the city.
Highway
Xi'an is well connected by highways, with national highways such as Jingkun Expressway (G5) and Lianhuo Expressway (G30) running through the whole city, and it is also very convenient to travel to Xi'an by long-distance buses from neighboring provinces. Transportation within the city
Subway
Xi'an has opened and operated 6 subway lines, with a total mileage of over 200 kilometers and an average daily passenger flow exceeding 2 million. The metro lines cover the city's major attractions, business districts and transportation hubs, such as Line 2, which can reach the Yongning Gate of the Xi'an City Wall, the Bell Tower, and the Shaanxi History Museum; Line 4, which can go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Datang Hibiscus Garden; and Line 9, which can go directly to scenic spots such as the Huaqing Pond and the Terracotta Warriors and Horses . Taking the subway is not only fast, but also avoids ground traffic congestion, making it one of the preferred ways to travel. Fares are based on mileage, starting at 2 yuan and going up to 8 yuan.
Public Transportation
Xi'an has a wide range of bus routes, reaching almost every corner of the city. The bus fare is usually RMB 2, and supports various payment methods such as cash, credit card and cell phone payment. In addition, there are some special tourist lines, such as Tour 5 (No. 306) which can directly reach the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Huaqing Pond and other popular attractions, which is very convenient for tourists to travel.
