The Lost Pharaoh – An Immersive Exploration of the Pyramid of Khufu is a 45-minute large-space immersive virtual reality (VR) experience that takes audiences on an in-depth exploration of the Pyramid of Khufu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Produced by the French team Excurio, the exhibition was introduced to China by Boxin Quanqiu and has been exhibited in Shanghai, Chengdu and other places, receiving widespread acclaim.

Exhibition features

Immersive experience: Visitors can use VR technology to get a close-up look at the internal structure and history of the pyramid and explore the mysterious areas that have never been open to the public.

Highly interactive: Groups of 1 to 6 people will be formed on site, and visitors can share their adventures with the people around them and interact and converse in real time.

High-precision restoration: The exhibition data is based on a full-field holographic scan of the interior and surrounding environment of the pyramid, and it is reconstructed and restored with 1:1 high-precision on a virtual engine.

Age limit: Children under 6 years old are not admitted, children aged 6/8 to 12 years old must be accompanied by a guardian with a joint ticket and be assisted by the guardian at all times.
Equipment weight: The experience requires wearing equipment, and the weight of the headset is 0.7kg.
Photography restrictions: No photography or videography is allowed in the experience area.

Since its first exhibition in Asia at HKRI Taikoo Hui in Shanghai in May 2023, “The Lost Pharaohs” has gained the support and popularity of the audience with its outstanding experience reputation. In Shanghai, the exhibition has been extended four times and has received more than 100,000 visitors. In Chengdu, the exhibition set a record of over 10,000 visitors in just 18 days. In addition, the exhibition was jointly recognized by the Chinese and French Ministries of Culture as a project of the 2024 “Year of France-China Cultural Tourism” and the “China-France Cultural Spring – Special Presentation of the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and France”.
